About WS.o

Greetings from Upper Alki. This is where we spend the best part of our day with friends and family. Right here in the neighborhood in which we grew up. West Seattle is, always has been, and always will be, our home.

West Seattle is also a place that, due primarily to its proximity to downtown and it’s small town aesthetics, is a property that can be exploited in terms of political and financial interests.

What can we do about it, you ask? Well, for one thing, we can make this community of ours a better place by finding things we all can agree upon and by not letting those with strict political or financial interest in our community, drive us apart. Those of us who are West Seattle natives have a lot in common, but even those of us who have immigrated here from elsewhere can be West Seattleites at heart.

It’s time to recapture the voice of the middle, the voice of our community, here in West Seattle, and we’d like to offer this venue as a place to do just that. We cannot afford to continue down the divisive path to ruin that we’re currently on, allowing the City Council and big business reform our neighborhood into an unrecognizable metropolitan mess.

Greater Seattle is growing and changing, and that is to be expected. We’re not against the gentrification of our fair city, but West Seattle cannot continue down the path we’re currently on. And, while we’re well aware that everything changes, this little piece of paradise is something worth fighting for, and so we will.
